Kenya is besides its fantastic diving and dive sites, especially known for its wildlife safaris and hikes towards Africa's second highest mountain Mount Kenya. Reserves such as the Tsavo East National Park, Masai Mara National Park and the Amboseli National Park are known for its large animals such as elephants, giraffes, antelopes, lions, buffalos, monkeys, zebras and leopards. Other highlights in Kenya are the wildebeest annual migration in between June and September, the capital Nairobi and the coastal capital Mombasa.

The tropical waters of the Indian Ocean offer superb fringing coral reefs and excellent habitats for marine life and coral formations. This rich ecosystem near the popular town of Mombasa offers some of the best dive sites worldwide. Visibilities can be up to 30 meters with water temperatures in between 24 and 30 degrees, so you can dive in shorts throughout the year. Well protected parks such as the Malindi - Watamu Marine Reserve, the Mombasa Marine Park and the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park & Reserve (Wasini Island) provide for excellent breeding grounds to maintain the rich underwater population of fish and corals. Other locations known to scuba divers are Diani Chale Marine National Reserve in the south and Kiwaiyu Island all the way up in the north.

Whale sharks and mantas can be spotted from December to March. Other species often seen are many kinds of sharks, turtles, dolphins and thousands of common coral reef fishes. Rockcod, surgeonfish, puffers, angelfish and butterflyfish, but also staghorn and brain corals are great to explore. Wherever you go, the combination of superb wildlife safaris with excellent dive vacations, can make it one of your best holidays ever.
